At the Phi Chapter (University of Michigan), we pride ourselves in both upholding and furthering the core ideals of our fraternity. We are dedicated to strengthening our brotherhood through social and philanthropic endeavors and our membership includes over 80 driven individuals from all majors and backgrounds including Business, Economics, English, Kinesiology, Communications and Political Science. We provide our pledges and our fraternity members with resources and opportunities to help them grow and succeed as principled business leaders. Resources and Opportunities: · Resume and Cover Letter workshops for both pledges and current brothers, allowing members to enhance writing skills and learn the basics of professional documentation. · Mock Interviews - both general and industry specific. · Career/Internship Panels are presented by Alumni and current members in order to share knowledge gained and offer advice in various fields. · Professional Etiquette Workshops are available to help members continue to exemplify professionalism beyond college. · Brotherhood presentations allow members to enhance presentation skills as well as impart knowledge on the brotherhood regarding issues varying from current events to investment basics. Past Events: · Google Presentation: Presented on Google’s industry role, their goals for the future, and job opportunities. · Former VP of Marketing for Daimler Chrysler: Presented on global and domestic marketing strategies. · Alpha Kappa Psi Entrepreneurs: Six members presented on their inspirations and business plans for their entrepreneurial endeavors. · Co-founder of Zingermanns Delicatessen: Presented on entrepreneurial drive, marketing strategies, consulting efforts, and goals for future. · Philanthropy Involvement: Relay for Life, U of M Dance Marathon, Make a Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, food drives, Strides against Breast Cancer, Adopt a Family (Holiday’s). · Professional Greek Week: Collaborated with other professional fraternities on campus in order to raise money for philanthropic causes as well as create opportunities for networking. · Various Brotherhood events including: Hayride, Tailgates, Bowling, Canoe Trips, Ski Trips, etc. While this highlights just a few of AKPsi’s resources and past events, we pride ourselves on having a well-rounded foundation as demonstrated by many of our members who branch out and also serve as leaders in other student organizations. Our member involvement on campus allows our brotherhood to expand our knowledge base and explore new interests. By learning and practicing AKPsi’s ideals of professionalism and business knowledge, our members lead by example in order to continue to positively impact the Michigan community and beyond. |
